Mangahis rules Tagaytay bikefest

CABUYAO, Laguna, Feb. 20 (PNA) — Pride Hilson Mangahis edged veteran Baler Rabina in a sprint finish to the pirturesque People’s Park in Tagaytay City to rule the fifth Tagaytay Pista Ng Pag-ibig Eagle of the Mountain Cycling Challenge Sunday. Oscar Rindole and Emil Pablo finished third and fourth in the race that was organized by Tagaytay City Mayor Abraham Tolentino, who is also the newly-elected president of the Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines or PhilCycling. Jefrey Monton, George Oconer and Nico Barreto finished 1-2-3 in the accompanying juniors race which was conducted by the PhilCycling to determine the members of its developmental pool. Rounding out the top 10 in the juniors category were Rodel Cabatbat, Michael Ochoa, Jerry Aquino Jr., Nikko Cortes, Aris Ramento, Cesar Mimer Jr. and Edmunto Nicolas. Another juniors race will be held on February 28 in Subic. The juniors category is for riders aged 18 or younger. The Tagaytay race was managed by the Philippine National Cycling Association headed by former Eagle of the Mountain Paquito Rivas.
