SUBIC — James Ball became the second South African to rule a stage in the 2010 Le Tour de Filipinas, topping a bunched finish at the Boardwalk here and beating by a hair Filipino Tots Oledan.

“We wanted the victory that is why we worked hard in catching up with them,” said Ball, 32, and the sixth man of the DCM team who clocked three hours, 14 minutes and 11 seconds in ruling the 146.6-km stage that started in Quezon City and passed through two of the country’s finest highways, the North Luzon and Subic-Tarlac Expressways.
