Where do you position on the road?

  1. In Australia (where we ride and drive on the left side of the road) a lot the time there is a shoulder to ride within. I try to be courteous and keep out of the road lanes if I can help it. I generally find most motorists are quite patient with bikes (however this patience can be tested if you take up too much of the lane). So although legally allowed to take up the whole lane in Australia you will find that motorists aren’t that “happy” with you.

My rule when riding … if they are bigger than me (i.e. a car) then I give way. Doesn’t matter if I am legally in the right, I will feel the damage a lot more than a car in a collision. Thanks for sharing.
