Mayor Rody Duterte “Bisiklita Ta Bai sa Shrine” set

SOME 100 riders are expected to see action in the coming 2009 Mayor Rody Duterte “Bisiklita Ta Bai sa Shrine” this December 20.
The cycling event which will have the team and individual categories will have its assembly point in front of Jaltan Food Centrum located along Magallanes Street starting at 8 a.m.
PhilCycling-Davao, organizers of the event bared yesterday that the first 30 registrants will get a signature Vice Mayor Inday Sara Duterte t-shirt.

The race which wil have a rolling start will have four laps in which cash prizes will be up for grabs for the winners.
The champion team will get P6,000 while the second to fifth will receive P4,000, P3,000, P2,000 and P,1000, respectively. For the individual class, the champion will have P3,000 while the second to third will get P2,000 and P1,000, in that order.

PhilCycling to stage first Mindanao tour

THE Race for Peace-First Tour of Mindanao will be staged from June 4 to 7 with 12 teams competing for honors in the four-stage competition that will cover 682 kilometers of roads in the major island down south.

PhilCycling president Mayor Abraham Bambol Tolentino of Tagaytay City said that each squad should be composed of six riders, all of whom will be racing under the theme, “One Track, One Dream, One vision!’’

Radio mindanao network (RMN) @samahang siklista kooperatiba ng davao (SSIKADABAW) set into motion the first ever Mindano wide cycling tournament dubbed as RACE for PEACE / IST TOUR OF MINDANAO covering the wide,criscrosssing contours of south central mindanao with the following stages,Ist stage 153kms.davao-gensan route, 2nd stage 159 kms.gen.san-koronadal,3rd stage 130kms. koronadal-cotabato route @the 4th stages 240 kms. cotabato-davao punishing stages,to bring the universa message of peace unityl @ harmony thru sports.

With the theme “one track,one dream,one vision!” as its rallying battlecry this 682kms.massed start four day road challenge @ duel of raw nerves @strengh will showcase the riding and navigational skills of our esteemed mindanao cyclist,their indomitable spirit in the face of the toughest physical strain,their agility and their unparalleled endurance to highlight our crusade in the name of peace and tranquility for all in mindanao.

the race will have 12 squad composed of six riders each will vie the top honors.the team event was deliberately designed to a have camaraderie @ sportsmanship between mindanao riders and better coordination ,effective teamwork among themselves’
