PSC donates old equipment to Philcycling

On the request of our President, the PSC board approved the donation of old and unserviceable cycling equipment to Philcycling. The request was timely since the equipment were scheduled to be auctioned off. Philcycling deems it better to tender the request on a plan to rebuild them for the purpose of either putting them for the cycling museum or for development of grassroots.

The federation gladly extends its appreciation to the benevolence. However, due to the advanced state of deterioration, the federation is encountering the issue of sourcing out the parts to be used in their rebuilding.

Interviews with several coaches reveals that the old bikes were stored previously in Amoranto Stadium and the coaches and athletes sold the parts. That could be reason why only the frames remain. It is expected that the implementation of stock inventory numbering and labeling will prevent this practice in the future.

POC won’t recognize Juico as cycling head

Jose Cojuangco, POC president, yesterday said recognizing Juico’s election will not help solve the problem in the sport since there’s another group claiming to be the rightful association.

Cojuangco said the other group, headed by Tagaytay City Mayor Abraham Tolentino, continues to enjoy the recognition of the Union Cycliste International, the world governing body in the sport.
